It's been over a week since I went back to school for an INSET day last Friday, ahead of our students' return this week. On Saturday we were at the Bournemouth Air Festival which, to my surprise, linked to some of the different strands of my life: firstly my closest school colleague comes from Bournemouth and his father still lives there. Secondly the theme of one of the most famous films of all time, which was written by Eric Coates as he marvelled at the view from Selsey's seafront, was played during a special 80th anniversary flight. The weather was a disappointment at times, but we hope you managed some quality time and did something memorable. As usual at this time, there is speculation about whether we might get an Indian Summer and, if so, for how long. The old saying as always holds true, namely the future is the undiscovered country. The clocks have not changed yet so this is still a good time to get out and about. This week Andrew represented Selsey Town Council at the Scout's Summer Fayre, while Val, Mick & Ali helped the Fruit Basket's Family Treasure Hunt. Donna and I donated sweets on behalf of the team and continue to have a high level of Ward work. I was also in school for GCSE Results day and brought work back, which I am doing each day, ready for the start of the new school year on Friday.  With schools returning, WSCC have posed a timely reminder about childhood immunisations .
