 Welcome to this week’s blog - as always, thanks for having a read. 

Last week saw several meetings and my school’s Open Evening. Donna’s highlight was a tour of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance base at Redhill Aerodrome. I must confess that it had not occurred to me that the Air Ambulance is a charity, probably because the vehicular ambulance service is part of the NHS. The Air Ambulance charity derives 91% of its income from donations and needs as good as £21 million pounds each year to keep going. Learn more about their work here:

Donna got the train back to Chichester when she finished where I joined her, Steve and Val for the latest Full Chichester District Council. We agreed to delegate authority to purchase a property under the Local Authority Housing Fund for £280,000. We also considered reports on changes to the National Scheme of Delegation for planning applications and the Housing, Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2025 - 2030 Funding Allocations (which included releasing £1m of already agreed funding.) We also agreed to release £155,000 of Community Infrastructure Levy monies to enable delivery of the Oaklands Park Path project, and agreed to a community governance review of the parish arrangements for East Lavington and Graffham which will see if they should be combined.

Donna and I came across a suitable present for one of our grandsons which involves assembling large bricks to make a dinosaur. Although it was not Lego, I am hoping it will lead him on to it because I was an avid fan when I was growing up and hope to build models with him. Make sure you have in your diary the dates of the Selsey Sea Defences preferred options consultations on Thursday October 15th from 15:00 to 19:30, Friday October 16th from 13:00 to 19:30 and Saturday October 17th from 10:00 to 15:00 in the Selsey Centre.
